Awakening on the floor of the sanctuary, Kail brushes his red hair out of his eyes and looks around. After determining that this is in fact, not his house. he sits up and lays against the wall. a grumpy, confused expression crosses his face as he fishes around in the pockets of his army coat for his cigarettes. "what in the name of the all tap dancing, all seeing crap of jack's colon is this place?" He sticks a cigarette in his mouth and rubs his eyes, then his forehead with his thumb and forefinger. "And what the hell did you do to yourself last night to wind up here?" He lurches to his feet, taking stock in his surroundings and begins to wander about looking for a restroom.

Aleria leaned her head back against her chair, sensing that another had passed through onto her grounds. "Ah, perfect. He's here."
The raven perched above her looked down, emerald eyes glittering in the darkness. Should I fetch him, milady?
The woman shook her head, No, I will send Aleksandra. He may accept seeing a human form better than a raven. I do not wish for him to harm you.
Caliga croaked, his version of a laugh, Aleria had come to understand. Beneath her mask she grinned herself.
Alyx, we have a visitor, she projected to her once fledgeling, turned guardian of the sanctuary, Please, welcome him to our humble abode.

Aleksandra opened her eyes, hearing her Vladyka's voice within her mind. She had been down in the catacombs, doing idle research but she grabbed her sleeveless coat and tossed it around her shoulders. The hood came up to cover her upper half of her face as she leapt up the stairs. She saw the figure, human for the most part, though she could tell from his scent that he was not, wandering the entrance hall of the Sanctuary. Sticking to the shadows, hiding, she spoke softly, so as not to alarm the newcomer.
"Welcome to the Cecedit Sanctis, Kail Ekenon. We have been awaiting your arrival for some time."

He fumbled in his coat for his lighter with his left hand, and pointed to the smoke still hanging from his lip, holding the brass colored zippo in his pinky and ring fingers "Come into the light. I'm massively hung over and i really don't want to play into the mysterious and spooky shit right now. Can i light this in here, or...?" Waiting for my arrival? how did i even get here? Am i even still in Manhattan? "And what is your name?"

Aleksandra removed the shadows from the torches upon the walls, casting light throughout the hall. The fountain in the centre cast eerie flickering shadows, the light from the water casting a ghostly glow over Alyx's face as she stood atop the statue. Plucking the lighter from his fingers, and floating it to her telekinetically, she lit a smoke of her own, exhaling a thin stream of smoke before returning the lighter.
"By all means," she chuckled darkly, "As for me, I am known by many names. But you know how that is for us mercs."

He clicked the lighter open and lit his smoke, taking a drag with a blissful sigh of relief while he exhaled. "Yeah. i do." He stretched his shoulders out as he looked at the fountain with a smirk. "And i'm a retired merc."

"Once a merc, always a merc." Alyx shrugged and hopped down gracefully, landing without a sound.
"Follow me, there is someone who very much wishes to meet you."
She wandered up the centermost of the three staircases, where a raven awaited her at the top with glittering emerald eyes streaked with gold. Giving a small bow to the bird, she turned back to wait for Kail.

He gripped the handle of his 1911 and proceeded up the stairs, taking puffs off his cigarette with his other hand as he walked. He peered behind him when he got to the top, then his corners as he was trained, and wandered past the bird without so much as saying a word, though he knew that the bird is the word, and everyone had heard about the bird,or at least he hoped so. he waved alyx on with a nod. "Let's go, before somebody breaks the fourth wall."

Chuckling softly, she nodded and lead him to a set of double oak doors. They opened before her without a sound to reveal a small hall, the only light coming from the moonlight which streamed through a tall floor to ceiling window. The sliver of light illuminated the throne-like chair that stood with it's back to the door. A soft hum filled the room, barely audible to a human.
"Vladyka, I have brought Kail Ekonen to you as requested."
With a bow, she ushered Kail in, and promptly disappeared out the door.

he grumbled under his breath as he lit another cigarette. "I peed in your fountain. I thought it was a urinal. If that's not getting off on the wrong foot then I don't know what is." his eyes darted side to side as he turned around, then back towards the opposite end of the room. "Listen, I'm immensely hung over, can we speed this mess along?"

Aleria laughed softly, stopping the two katanas in their circular motion. The hum in the room also ceased, leaving only silence. "You need not worry about that. It will cleanse itself." Not bothering to turn around, she held out her left hand, a small crystal vial between her fingers. "Take this. It should help with your... hangover."
Almost her herself, she murmured as an afterthought, "I did not realize your kind could get hangovers."

He held his hand out under hers, ready to catch the vial. "Yes, we do. Or at least i do. I'm it. I'm all that's left." His mood having changed visibly from that statement, he took another jaded drag off his cigarette, then lifted his foot, and smashed the butt against his boot, all without putting his hand down. "So what's in the vial?"

"Interesting," she murmured in her slight Scottish brogue, "It is nothing much. Just a simple draught to help the symptoms of this hangover."
Dropping the vial, she stood, turning to him. Her face was obscured by the deep hood, and cloth mask she wore over her face. The silver crosses that hung from the laces on her sleeves tinkled as she shoved her hands in her pockets. "Drink that, and then perhaps you would like to take a walk with me."

he let loose a pensive "hmmmm" as he eyed the vial nervously. at this point, anything would help, so he gulped it down and immediately gagged. "Well, it tastes like week old haggis." a slight tinge of irish brogue tainted his otherwise pristine brooklynese accent. "better walk it off. lead the way."

"Haggis hmm?" she hummed softly, amused, "That is something I have not had in... quite some time. It was quite popular in my father's court, of course." She shook her head slightly at the memory.
As she spoke, Aleria made her way back through the stone halls, out into the Citadel. "A beautiful night," she murmured, staring up at the moon, "You are free to come and go as you please. You have been keyed into the wards of this Sanctuary."
