IVAN
Something isn't right. The outside looked dark, eerily dark, the snow on the ground had barely any light to reflect. The brightest thing the guy could see was the lit end of his own smoke. It was dry, and it wasn't at all cold. It just wasn't anything. No wind, no clouds, no color at all. As if the word 'dusk' had never been given proper justice until this moment. "This isn't my street," he whispered, quickly turning his wrist, causing the door to slam shut behind him.
This isn't your world, man.
Ivan looks at his phone to check the time. No service...huh.
He pockets his cellular phone and takes the same three steps he always took on every other day. Staggering forward, he became more and more aware of how wrong everything was.
It was an urban purgatory. Everything beyond his home was grey and concrete. The other apartments looked more like walls. Just blocks of material. No more snow beyond the walkway, everything came to an end. Sound became dull and hollow. Breathing, tobacco burning, the sounds of his own footsteps. You could hear, but it seemed, muffled. He pulls his bag in front of him and fishes for the comic book, hoping that somewhere in his bag, somewhere in this book, the answer to how messed up this day has just gone might be revealed. But no such luck. Stopping time is one thing, Teleporting to another place is one thing. But this was different, there was no time here, and here is no place. There can be no logical explanation for what here is.
Flipping from page to page, desperate for an answer. he concluded that this book did not contain one. He steeled himself. Okay, you are somewhere, on one of either side of nowhere, chances are you're not quite dead yet. There's at least two pennies in your wallet, so worst case scenario, the worst is already over. But assuming you're not dead, there's probably a reason for it implying, whatever is doing this, wants you alive. As he looked up again he felt that all too familiar feel, that, fear. Yeahhh...You probably should have called Soul.
His cigarette stopped burning in his mouth and his face went pale.

Aleria smiled, seeing the dullness sweep the land before her. Of course, the grey walls and misty air wasn't her ideal setting, but it was calming, in a way. A soft breeze carried the scent of fear to her heightened senses, and ink black wings spread from her back. The silver and white feathers that streaked her wings seemed to emit a pallid glow as she took flight.
The Fallen alighted on top of the building adjacent a young man whom she did not recognize. She wore not her usual attire, but a dark grey mask to cover the lower half of her face, and her hair was let loose, held within the hood of a grey sweater overlaid by a sleeveless black trench coat that hung by her booted feet as she crouched on the edge of the tall grey structure. Aleria retracted her wings into her tattoos, and rested her chin upon black gloved hands. Absentmindedly, she tugged as her cargo pants with a couple fingers as she observed the street below.
Now, should I get up and speak to him, or simply use my mind? she pondered silently, half expecting Caliga's reply which she knew would not come in such a place as this.
Naturally, she was greeted with silence, even Xaeir could not touch her here. The dual swords that were her constant companion in both peace and battle were gone, her only weapons were the foot and a half long fans at her belt and the knives on her leg and in her boot.
Deciding that a mundane approach was best, even in this place, she flitted over to another building, dropping down without a sound to walk up behind the unsuspecting young human. When she was about a foot away, she stopped to light a smoke of her own before holding out the silver lighter in her left hand.
"Need a light?"

"Um, sure,". He said humorously. "I think I left mine back in my...," Ivan turns his head back to see, nothing. "Nevermind. So what exactly is going on?" He asks suspiciously, pulling out another cig. "I mean, it's a fancy trick, you know,". Now staring at her with both arms folded out to both sides, attempting to look somewhat formidable. "Making the whole goddamn world go away."
Well, stab me in the face and call her Charon. You're looking at the face of death my friend

Aleria is silent as she lights the lighter and holds it up to his smoke. "The mind itself is a tricky thing," was all she said before drifting past him.
The path they stood on soon became apparent once again, nothing but dirt and stones that disappeared into the mist. "Your home was there you say?" she points and a small glowing orb floats above where the steps leading into his apartment building would normally be, "You will always find your way back here. That is lesson number one. Now, would you take a walk with me?"

"Alright," he mumbles, breathing in. "Don't see why not,". Walking beside her he begins to feel more calm. Okay, so you misjudged her a little bit "Just wondering, you wouldn't happen to be a part of all the other weird stuff happening around here, would you?" he trips over his own foot. "Ahh, I mean, this is some real heavy, uh, stuff,".

A park slowly fades into view ahead of them, a single bench in the center of the green space. Aleria stops at the edge of the clearing and looks around.
"Other weird stuff?" she inquires with a raised eyebrow, "Happening around here? Do you even know where here is?"
With a smile hidden behind her mask, she walks on ahead to perch herself on the back of the metal bench as she waits for him to catch up. Aleria looks around, the mist still would not dissipate from around them. She shrugs slightly to herself.
Eventually he will realize, and this place will take on more life. It is always like this in the beginning. she told herself as she toyed with the silver chain on her wrist, It must be of his own volition that this place is created, after all, it is the best way to eliminate the limitations on his mind. I must avoid breaking him at all costs.

Ivan takes a hard drag. "You know what I'm talking about," He flicks his cigarette off to one side as he pushes away the fog, revealing the dew covered green grass beneath their feet. "Not here, my world, my home, my city," His coattail begins to flap and his collar pops up as he emits more kinetic energy from his body, small droplets of water rising from the ground, one crawls up his face and rests under his eye like a tear. "There are people getting killed off by, someone, or something. And up until now there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it, but now I have power. I am going to save everybody. And I have gone too far to let some, old world magick stop me,". Now standing in a defensive posture. "And take off that mask, before I rip it off myself,"

"Well," Aleria smirked, "I may or I may not. But it is certainly not I who is killing them. Nor do I have any intention of stopping you. I intend to help you develop your powers, that is all."
The Fallen stood in front of him, taking another drag off her smoke, "I would be careful about underestimating what you so charmingly call 'old world magick'. But if you wish to test its waters then please, by all means, force me to reveal myself."

"Very well, you want to help me, I'll gladly except whatever help you think you can give me. However..." The mist begins to swirl around Ivan's body while the droplets begin to pull towards him. "It doesn't change the fact, I want to see that face of your's," Aleria's mask begins to rattle and shake. "I take that mask of yours, and you tell me, your angle, your play, everything. Stop me, and I'll follow you without question. That being said," He hurls himself towards her, rain slapping against her mask. "Let's have some fun!" He lunge kicks the bench, knocking it back several feet. Aleria launches herself back as Ivan throws his hand out for a pull.

(You cannot make my character do things, it's something we call power-playing. Just an FYI ) Aleria feels the cloth covering her face begin to move before she reaches forward and uses Ivan's outstretched hand to flip herself off the bench and over his head. Her hood falls back to reveal the jet black hair underneath, the silver strand by her left cheek emitting the same pallid glow as her feathers had earlier. The Fallen sighs softly and looks around, noting the shadows surrounding both of them. Well, we will see if I can manage this without using my power. It should be much more fun that way, she thinks with a slight grin. Running towards him again, she uses her full speed, making her seem to disappear for a few seconds. Once she is a couple inches from him, she sweeps a leg out, aiming to catch him behind his knees and take him off balance.

(OoC: sorry thought that only applied to hits and what not, also thought the mask was metal or porcelain at first)
"Aagh FU..." Ivan falls, smashing his head against the benches cement foundation. Wasn't expecting that.. He props himself up slightly, a small laceration bleeding into one eye. He reaches out and begins to quickly disassemble the bench, turns his head slightly and blindly throws the pieces over and behind him.

A piece of metal catches her in the leg, but the cut heals almost instantly as she comes to crouch in front of him. "Now, why don't we stop this nonsense. Let me fix up your cuts, and then we will talk."
Aleria holds out a hand as a gesture of peace. Her fingerless gloves soon became soaked with the moisture that was still in the air, and her hair clung to her face.

With a funny looking sad-face. "Okay. It hurts. Hurts real bad,"

She smiles gently and reaches into one of the pouches on her utility belt, pulling out a small black container. Aleria uncaps it, and takes a pea sized amount of a white ointment to rub over the cut. Almost instantly, it begins to heal, leaving only the drying blood as testament to the injury.
"There. I do apologize. I had no intention of hurting you," the dark haired woman murmured as she stood, offering her companion a hand up, "Now I'm sure you have questions, but our time here is running short. You must go back to your home now. I will accompany you today, but after this, you will have to find it on your own. That is your first lesson."
Aleria begins walking back down the path, "When you awake, you must find the answers for yourself. I am not there. I am somewhere far away. One day, you will journey there. One day we will meet. But first you must finish what it is you set out to do here. Only then can you be free."

"Alright,". Ivan steps up to his feet. They head back in the direction they came from. The dusk of the gray world began to look a little more like dawn. Walking down the familiar street, murmuring to each other, they approach the portal. Ivan stares into the convex image of his doorstep ,"Thanks Aleria, it's been, educational, I guess,". Slowly stepping towards it,he hides a small pinching gesture with his left hand to his core. "Oh and one more thing," He turns to face her and cocks his head to one side. "HA-HA!" And with both arms now extended he uses his right hand, pushes off of her and falls back into his homeworld.

Aleria grins, simply taking a step back to compensate for his push. Opening her eyes, she stared at her ceiling. Caliga.
Milady? Were you successful? the raven inquired.
Yes. I will contact him again tomorrow night. For now, you must take a journey. Take this, she holds out a piece of cloth, stained with blood, It has his scent, his energy. Find him, please. You must be our intermediary. I cannot go there, it is too dangerous for me to leave this place while I am being hunted as I am.
Of course Milady. I shall leave right away. Caliga took off out the window.
Keep in touch, Caliga. With that, Aleria donned her light armour, strapping Xaeir to her hip and Zeru into the holsters under her arm. Making her way through the winding corridors of her home, she contemplated the road ahead of her new acquaintance.
